Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is suitable for a first aider working in a lower-risk environment.
(The HSE strongly recommends that all first aiders undertake an annual refresher course, and candidates must re-qualify every three years)

Ø Roles and responsibilities of a first aider
Ø Assessment and management of first aid incidents
Ø Management of an unconscious casualty
Ø Management of a casualty who is not breathing normally
Ø Management of a casualty who is choking
Ø Management of a casualty who has a bleeding injury
Ø Management of a casualty who is in shock
Course duration: 1 day program
Assessment method: practical assessment plus an examination consisting of 15 multiple choice questions
In the practical assessment, candidates will be tested on the following five elements:
