Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care (Adults)
Who is this course for?
Level 2 is suitable for all those who are working (or seeking work) in a care setting enviroment.
This qualification level is strongly recomended for all those who are currently working as care/support workers. It is considered to be the minimum qualification required by a care worker by the sector skills bodies and is the minimum qualification accepted for registering with most care homes/ care agencies.
(If you are not currently working within a care environment, you will be required to spend a minimum of 6 weeks on work experience, either in a hospital or nursing home, to be able to complete your course)

- You will be eligible to progress into the NVQ Level 3 course in Health and Social Care
With the NVQ 3 qualification, you can progress into NVQ Level 4, Social Work, and train to be a nurse or enter other jobs in the caring profession.
Number of Units:
You are required to complete a total of 6 units. All four core units plus a choice of two optional units.
(Note: There are a number of additional units which may be selected for professional development but will not count towards the achievement of this NVQ)

Duration: To be discussed with your assessor (3 - 6 months on average)
Assessment: Coursework and Practical Observation at the care home.
Prerequisite: Prior knowledge or experience of care working is required and a pass grade on the skills scan and initial diagnostic assessments.
