CIEH Level 2 Award in the Principles of COSHH
Who needs this qualification?
Designed for those responsible for the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) at work, as well as employees who use hazardous substances in manufacturing, cleaning, healthcare, transport, utilities and offices.
Successful completion will prepare employees to look carefully at their own work activities and contribute to the safer use of hazardous substances in co-operation with their managers and supervisors.
This qualification complements the CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace by introducing candidates to the inherent risks in substances and the controls available.

Ø Definition and types of substances hazardous to health in the workplace
Ø Health effects of hazardous substances and their causes
Ø COSHH assessments and control options
Ø Responsibilities imposed by the control of substances hazardous to health regulations
Outcomes:
On completing this qualification candidates will be able to:
v Identify the hazards associated with those substances
v Identify the risks and controls available to deal with the substances
v Identify what to expect from a COSHH assessment
Duration: Half-day program

Ofqual Accredited: No
Refreshment of this qualification is recommended at least every 3 years.
